Wineus advised Swiss Medical Network SA in the development of Réseau de l’Arc

Swiss Medical Network SA (“Swiss Medical Network”) has achieved a major milestone in its integrated care strategy with the announcement of the participation of Visana Beteiligungen AG (“Visana”) in Hôpital du Jura Bernois SA (“HJB”)

Centered around HJB, Swiss Medical Network has been building a dense medical network in the region of the Arc Jurassien as part of its integrated care strategy. As of January 1st 2023, HJB will become Réseau de l’Arc SA (“Réseau de l’Arc”). As a first-of-its-kind cooperation in Switzerland, health insurer Visana will become a minority shareholder of Réseau de l’Arc, joining Swiss Medical Network and the Canton of Berne. Together, the shareholders will create the first fully integrated care organization in Switzerland, which will offer medical services combined with a health insurance product to residents of the Arc Jurassien region.

The new system will enable the change from the traditional volume-based fee-for-service model to a quality-oriented full-capitation approach. With this historic paradigm shift, Swiss Medical Network hopes to multiply this type of public-private partnership to help improve healthcare services for the Swiss population.

Wineus has successfully accompanied Swiss Medical Network through the entire project.
